Thus, parallel to Milena\u2019s opus, a \ncollection of modern art was born. The festival \u201eDream and \nImagination\u201c brought together such great names as: Vladimir \nVelickovi\u0107, Ljuba Popovic, Leonid Sejka, Branko Miljus, Milic \nod Macve, Vasilije Jordan, Miodrag Nagorni, Milan Popovic, \nMarko Sustarcic, Spase Kunoski and Svetozar Samurovic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-ast-global-color-5-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-1a3871d29546a3d91d36e26004affb6e\">\u201eDream and Imagination\u201c, in turn, inspired the organization \nof the first Biennial \u201eMilena Pavlovic Barilli\u201c in Pozarevac in \n1983. Like that first time, and since then every second year, it \nopens on the day of Milena\u2019s birthday, November 5th. Since \nthe second Biennial in 1985 it has been known as \u201eIn the light \nof Milena\u201c, a phrase coined by a Pozarevac journalist Jovan \nRajkovic. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-ast-global-color-5-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-d307c1aab7337eb5a357faab71b85ecc\">Biennial became international in 1997 and continues to \nbe so, with the participation of artists who work outside the \nborders of Serbia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-ast-global-color-5-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-df166f6f8fd07b9128a61a4d2aa9daec\">The challenge to illuminate the trace of Milena\u2019s work in \ntime has been taken up, during more than three decades, by a \ngreat number of artists. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-ast-global-color-5-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-ab4388f9cada6249fc30945d9a7b9379\">The Biennial issues official awards of a prestigious level as judged by an expert panel of judges, as \nwell as the plaques with Milena\u2019s portrait, designed by a sculptor Neboj\u0161a Mitric, who also did and \ndonated two busts of Milena. One of them is in the Gallery, and the other one is in the Sun\u010dani park \narea in front of the Cultural Centre in Po\u017earevac-<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-ast-global-color-5-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-202fdd24e082cede1ed933c5ea7f8b7f\">The art collection of the Modern Art of the Milena Pavlovic Barilli Gallery contains 53 works - 36 \noils, 12 prints, aquarelles and drawings and 5 sculptures. They were created between 1959 and 2015. \nThe basis of the collection is made up of paintings imbued with surrealism, from the domain of the \nmetaphysical art of the hyperrealism to the Gothic fantasy, but there are also those reaching into the \nradical geometrism. Artists represented in the art collection of the Modern Art of the Milena Pavlovic Barilli Gallery \nrepresent the art scene of the second half of the twentieth and the beginning of the twenty-first \ncentury.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-ast-global-color-5-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-e8ece35be49999ab19d42cf28720047f\">The day of Milena\u2019s birth, November the 5th, the day of the Biennial, is an important \nday for art.
